Looking for a gaming chair for your setup? We've rounded up our favorite gaming chairs available now.

If you regularly game at your desk, one of the better investments you can make is a gaming chair. We've rounded up the best gaming chairs available in 2023, including a variety of racing seat desk chairs, rockers, recliners, and even a high-tech beanbag. From Secretlab's Titan Evo Series to Mavix's premium M9 gaming chair, there are plenty of stellar options on this list. Nowadays, the best gaming chairs tend to cost at least $400 or more, but we've included chairs across various price points. Regardless of your budget, you will probably find a gaming chair that appeals to you on this list.

If you're looking for a list full of cheaper alternatives, make sure to check out our guide to the best budget gaming chairs.

Before we dive in, let's briefly discuss the benefits of gaming chairs.

Benefits of a gaming chair vs. office chair

The main benefit quality gaming chairs have over many regular office chairs is their ergonomic design, particularly lumbar and head/neck support. While a regular swivel office chair may do well for short intervals, a PC gaming chair is made for consistent, prolonged use. They generally have thicker cushions and, importantly, extra lumbar and head cushions. If you're finding that your lower back is sore after sitting in a regular desk chair, an ergonomic gaming chair is a great option for you.

Once you assemble your chair, there are a few things you should keep in mind when using it at your desk. The Mayo Clinic recommends adjusting the seat height so that your feet lay flat on the floor. Armrests should be situated so that your shoulders can be relaxed while resting your elbows, and your knees should be parallel to your hips.

Gaming chairs are versatile, though. When not hammering away at the keyboard, they still provide comfort and support when reclined. While remaining upright at a desk is helpful, chances are you're looking at a gaming chair for more than just work, and most of the chairs on this list are designed for both work and play.

Holy forking shirt balls. what a load of crap, in particular this line:

"The main benefit quality gaming chairs have over many regular office chairs is their ergonomic design, particularly lumbar and head/neck support."

never and I repeat never buy a gaming chair, they are a scam made in the same Chinese factories just rebranded based on what company is buying. I regrettably own a dx racer and its sitting in my closet until I can sell it because it gives me back pain. I now use a cheap 80$ office chair and most of my back problems have gone away. I'm saving up until I can afford a herman miller or something similar that will actually be worth the cost.

gamespot is just promoting junk because the links provided give them a cut of the sale (as disclosed at the bottom of the article)

If you a fatty, like me, and you are spending this type of bank on a chair, that you make sure it will support you. These chairs are solid, but even they have limits, buy appropriately.

I cannot encourage this enough, as a RN BSN since forever its seems, please try to keep your feet and legs elevated as much as possible, also try standing and walking around during especially long bouts of gaming. When we are young it is easy to put 100s of hours of gaming on a really good game. But as we get older the chance for PVD, blood clots, and problems related to swelling in the legs get so high. Try a recliner with good lumbar support, and elevate those feet. Elastic support hose is also great, or by the time all the FF7 Remake games come out you may be loosing lower parts of your limbs. Also never use a chair that has your feet dangling, or crossed because it is too low.

Standing desks are also good, and after a couple of hours be sure to take a 20min walk if possible. Low perfusion in your lower legs can cause everything from ascites, ulcers, infections, edema, greater chance for Type II diabetes, and even longer healing times in your lower legs. You may not see the damage you incur now, but by the time your in your 30s, 40s and later it will really start to build, even if your young and thin now. You can still obtain proper body mechanics with your legs elevated, to reduce back, shoulder, and common desk related injuries.

Try what you can, this hobby we call gaming is as rough on the body as digging coal.

If you want a gaming chair these may be the best (I don't know, just trusting gamespot)

But, why the hell would anyone want a "gaming" chair? They are purely cosmetic.

If you want to get ahead of the competition, get a gaming chair ASAP. They are made specifically for gaming, so you will do more damage, have more HP, unlimited lives, and many more perks that you'll just have to find out what they are by getting a gaming chair!

"Gaming chair" is not a thing and is so unbelievably cringe that people fall for this marketing. All you need is a good quality office chair, not some edgy wannabe race car chair.

@deanmanwalking2: ...but what if you're playing Forza? Doesn't the racing stripe help you corner or drift or whatever? ;)

DO NOT BUY ANY OF THEM. Its all overpriced trash that they put their logo on and call it a Racing Chair.

Thery're literally made to milk the clueless gamer that wears LED's on his Walmart headset. Wake up, its 2021.

@chaosbrigade: I got one. Great chair. Only gripe is that the leather chair takes a while to break in.

Oh good, more fake leather chairs that start peeling after about a year and a half.

@ClunkerSlim: Secret Lab’s Titan (and probably Omega too) have a fabric upholstery option. That’s what I got, and it’s way more comfortable/durable than faux leather. You can also get those in real leather as well, but that’s an extra couple hundred bucks.

I find this hilarious, considering the recent Gamersnexus video about "gaming" chairs.

@mcnichoj: You don't really have to watch that channel to understand gaming chairs are a scam. Just sitting in one and then sitting in literally any other reasonable chair does that for you.

@firedrakes: Only this is gaming chair nonsense is worse tbh. It's like selling a 480p TV at 8k prices.
