Windows 11 Pro Is Only $40 Right Now

Typically sold for well over $100, you can pick up a Windows 11 license for a ridiculously low price.

Windows 11 is the latest operating system from Microsoft, and it makes some subtle, yet impactful, improvements to the iconic OS. The license typically costs $139 when purchased directly through Microsoft, but a new deal lets you snag Windows 11 Pro for just $40.

That’s an impressive price cut, but not everyone will be eligible for the savings. Specifically, this purchase is designed for “PCs that need a new license for Windows and meet the minimum requirements for Windows 11.” If you need help checking your specs, you can verify your compatibility here.

It's worth noting that if you already have an active Windows 10 license, you should be able to upgrade for free. This deal could be useful for you if you're looking to build your own computer or want to install Windows on a compatible device that doesn't currently have it.

Once you’ve verified your computer will support Windows 11, you’ll have 30 days to redeem your code after purchase. One key can be used for up to three devices, and you’ll be granted lifetime access to Windows 11 Pro. And you can shop with confidence knowing the key is provided by an authorized Microsoft Partner.

Windows 11 makes a few big changes to the operating system, with a simple new UI, enhanced security features, and the ability to create custom layouts to enhance your productivity. Here’s a look at some of the features that are included with your purchase:

Windows 11 Pro features

  • BitLocker device encryption
  • Device encryption
  • Find my device
  • Firewall & network protection
  • Internet protection
  • Parental controls & protection
  • Secure boot
  • Windows Hello
  • Windows Information Protection (WIP)
  • Windows Security

This deal won’t stick around long, so if you’re looking to upgrade your OS, be sure to check it out while you can. And while you’re shopping, it might be worth pairing Windows 11 with Microsoft Office. You can get Microsoft Office 2021 for only $40 right now.

Is there a way to tell if this is legitimate and verified/legal Windows licenses?

Just make it free. It's full of ads and telemetry anyway.

@girlusocrazy: I haven't paid for Windows since 8, because MS keeps offering free upgrades. I wonder what the point even is anymore. Granted, we all know Office and their enterprise services are the real moneymaker for MS, especially Office 365, but this silliness is getting a bit eye-roll-worthy. What the hell computer that meets the minimum requirements doesn't already have either Win 11 or Win 10 (and thus access to a free update)?

@YukoAsho: If you are staying on the same hardware for a long time that's fine, but if you buy new parts you can be forced to get a new license.

@girlusocrazy: I've bought so many motherboards and graphics cards since 8, so that's clearly not the issue.

@YukoAsho: There's a difference between a retail and OEM license, so some will neex to buy a new one and others will not.

@girlusocrazy: Well, mine for 8 was OEM. Went to TigerDirect when they still had a store down here. The OEM licenses were way cheaper than the retail.

God, I miss TigerDirect.

@YukoAsho: If that is true then they are basically selling millions of people new Windows licenses for no reason. When people buy a new laptop, they should just use the Windows license from their old laptop and save money from the new laptop. People have been getting ripped off.

@girlusocrazy: Well, most everything is sold WITH Windows already, unless it's a Chromebook or some overpriced Linux dealer. Microsoft is making hella bank, and you're right about it being more than a bit of a ripoff.

Honestly, I've had trouble ONE time with Microsoft after switching hardware, and that was... Was it Vista or XP? I just dropped a line to their hotline and worked it out with a rep.

So I have to use this code within 30 days of purchase? If I build the PC 2 months from now, the code will not work? If thats the case, they should really tell you that on the purchase screen.

@grizzlybeary: The requirement to redeem code within 30 days is on the advertisement page. you have to read the whole advertisement page to see it. It should be if anything where one notices it readily.
