Final Fantasy XVI isn't just shaping up to be one of the most visually impressive games of the years, but also one that will likely have a memorable soundtrack. Produced by legendary composer Masayoshi Soken, that soundtrack will be available physically on July 28 in a handsome collection of CDs housed inside a beautifully illustrated box.

The $100 original soundtrack for Final Fantasy XVI is pressed onto eight discs, each one featuring key art of the main characters in the upcoming action-RPG. Additionally, the slipcase cover features illustrations by longtime Final Fantasy series artist Yoshitaka Amano, which you'll also find on the Collector's edition box of the game. It's a really nice case to display, as it shows off the mighty Eikons of the game in all their dread glory.

As for the actual music, the recent Revenge trailer is a good indicator of what you can expect from this score. It's grand-scale orchestral music that fits into the high fantasy theme of this game, with choirs and booming brass instruments selling the game's ambitious scope.

It's worth noting that Soken has helped define the sound of Final Fantasy XIV since it began its Realm Reborn resurgence, and while the music in that online MMORPG features similar audio themes, it also incorporates more modern instruments and mixes in other genres of music to deliver unique sounds.

Final Fantasy XVI is scheduled to release exclusively for PlayStation 5 on June 22. If you still need to secure a copy of the game, check out our Final Fantasy XVI preorder guide.
