The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Yiga Clan Exam is a secret side quest, one that requires several items before it can be accessed. Once you're done item hunting, you'll be able to trick the assassins to let you enter their training camp. Here's our guide to help you complete the Yiga Clan Exam for the Suariwak Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to complete the Yiga Clan Exam for the Suariwak Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Yiga Clan Exam requirements and HQ location

The Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Yiga Clan Exam can only be started once you've obtained the full Yiga Armor Set. Once you have all three, make your way to the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower.

From there, launch up into the sky, then glide to the northwest. You should see a waterfall nearby. Look closer, and you'll notice a well-hidden cliffside path. Go there, wear the full Yiga Armor Set, and interact with the doorway. The ninjas will let you in since they think you're one of them.

Frog Altars map and locations

Inside the Yiga Blademaster's Station, the NPC will tell you that it's time for you to prove that you've got what it takes. This will lead to the side quest itself.

Your goal now is to find five Frog Altars in the Gerudo Canyon zone to offer a Mighty Banana. The Yiga Blademaster will also hand over Mighty Bananas that you can use. Also, in case you accidentally ate some before you could finish this side quest, you'll find a bunch of banana trees near Lurelin Village.

In any case, you can refer to the map below for all Frog Altar locations. We've numbered them for the purposes of this guide, though you can visit them in any order. Once you're in front of a Shrine, simply open your inventory and choose the "Hold" action on a Mighty Banana. Then, press the A button to drop it in the bowl.

From the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower, go directly north. As you fall off a cliff, you'll see several wooden walkways. The altar is on the walkway.

Frog Altar #3

Launch from the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower and keep gliding to the east. Down below, you should see the Mount Nabooru landmark. Make your way to the eastern side of that and enter the Mount Nabooru Cave. You should find the Frog Altar in a small chamber.

From left to right: Frog Altar locations #1, 2, and 3.

Frog Altar #4

From the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower, glide a bit to the south. You should see a landmark called Spectacle Rock. Just before that is an open area with a bunch of circular rock formations.

Frog Altar #5

From the fourth location, head to the west. You should see an opening that leads to the Gerudo Canyon Mine. Head deeper into the mine until you see a rock bridge that leads to one of the upper chambers.

Suariwak Shrine

After offering Mighty Bananas to the five Frog Altars, you'll complete the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Yiga Clan Exam side quest. Return to the Blademaster HQ (remember to wear the full Yiga Armor Set), and talk to the trainer. He'll allow you to open the door.

Inside, you'll find chests containing a Ruby and an upgraded Eightfold Longblade. Likewise, you can go through the crawlspace to kill a Bubbulfrog.

And, of course, there's also the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Suariwak Shrine. This is just a Rauru's Blessing objective, so open the chest and grab your Blessing of Light from the terminal. In any case, don't forget to take a look at our Shrine locations main guide.
